Padharo Mhare Des - COVID Relief Series

The Online Covid Relief Concert Series was initiated by Rajasthan based Folk Art Promoter and Singer, Ms. Manesha A Agarwal. The series was inaugurated by the Hon’ble CM of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlotji. It premiered on all social media platforms, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram in November 2020.

 

Arpan Foundation and Ms. Manesha A Agarwal have a long association with folk artists from the hinterlands of Rajasthan. During the challenging times of the pandemic, the Foundation and Ms. Agarwal, felt a compelling need to help them sustain. The Foundation, with a team of Media & Entertainment professionals, facilitated the video and audio recording of more than 120 artists at their homes in some of the remotest parts of Rajasthan – Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur and Jaipur. 

 

These performances were woven into a Virtual Concert Series –  ‘Padharo Mhare Des’, 5 episodes of which have been showcased so far. The Series showcased heartfelt performances by varied folk art communities and art forms of Rajasthan – Langas, Meghwals, Kalbeliyas, Manganiyars, Bhopa-bhopi, Katputli among others. To watch the episodes, you may visit the official Youtube channel of the Series – PadharoMhare Des Live. 

The Foundation has helped each folk artist, with a humble financial assistance. PadharoMhare Des continues to make efforts to raise funds to help and promote more folk artists.  

 

The Series has received support from some of India’s leading musicians – Padma Bhushan, Grammy Awardee PanditVishwa Mohan Bhatt, Padma Shri AnupJalota, percussionist Bickram Ghosh, Padma Shri Anwar Khan, music composer & singer Tochi Raina, music composer Shantanu Moitra; music composer/director, Ravi Pawar; singers, Richa Sharma, Harshdeep Kaur, Mame Khan, musicians Salil Bhatt, RavinderUpadhayay to name a few.
